Session Flow & What to Expect:
If you’ve ever shopped for art, you know prices are all over the map… and that’s true with photography. And like with other art, those prices aren’t easily compared - it’s not apples to apples.
My work may not be the cheapest in the area, but it's certainly one of the best values. My unique process ensures you'll get exactly what you want (along with as much - or as little - guidance as you need), and end up with beautiful images to enjoy for years to come.
To reserve a date, you'll sign a contract and pay a 30% deposit. If we haven't already chosen a date, the easiest way to compare calendars is for you to email or call me with a few dates that work for you - I always try to be as flexible as possible.
As you look at your calendar, here are a few things to consider:
Spring and fall are my busiest times of the year, so I recommend booking your session at least a month in advance to secure your spot. I generally schedule outdoor family sessions during the golden hour, which is 1-2 hours before sunset. This timing ensures the light is soft and flattering, creating the most beautiful results for your photos.
If the weather doesn’t cooperate and it happens to rain on your scheduled date, don’t worry—we’ll reschedule to find a better day. My priority is to create a relaxed and enjoyable experience for your family, capturing moments you’ll treasure forever.
Regarding NEWBORN SESSIONS, I typically schedule those on weekday mornings. This time of day is perfect because newborns are often sleepiest and most relaxed then, which helps create a calm and enjoyable experience for both you and your baby.
Once you’ve booked your session, you’ll receive a link to my session prep guide to help you prepare for the big day. This guide includes helpful tips on what to wear, how to prepare, and what to bring so you can feel confident and relaxed. A week before your session, I’ll send a confirmation email with a reminder of the details, making sure everything is ready to go.
Our sessions typically last about 90 minutes, but I like to keep things flexible. There’s no strict time limit or extra charge if we run over. It’s all about creating a comfortable, stress-free environment where we can capture your family’s authentic moments. My goal is to ensure that you enjoy the experience as much as the memories we’ll create together!
What you're going to do with your images is perhaps the most important aspect to consider when you're planning for a photo session, but it's all too often the aspect that's overlooked... all that time and money invested deserve a better return than photos gathering dust on a hard drive somewhere. You'll never get the same feeling looking at your photos on a screen as you will seeing them on your wall or flipping through the pages of an album, so I include an Early Bird print discount with every galley. Ordering prints directly through your gallery has never been easier because it’s all set up for you! Plus, you will rest assured that your photos will be printed on the utmost quality materials, ensuring they last and look incredible.
