Sonoma Valley family photographer
  • What is your photography style?
My goal is to capture your family as it naturally is. Focusing on your family’s story, the beautiful connection and love you all share. I will put you all in the best light and the environment that fits your family, and the rest is up to you! I will gently guide you and interact with kids, but mostly I want you to interact and have fun with each other. Don’t look at me, look at each other, this is your unique family story! Have fun, play, and do what you normally would do to get your kids to laugh and have a great time. Let’s get out there, have a great session, and I'll do my very best to capture that love that just comes naturally between you all.
  • What should I expect?
Connection, connection, connection. That is the goal, and when we start the session, I will remind you all to just make sure that you are somehow touching that person next to you. Get close, snuggle up, you love these people right?! We’ll usually get one or two of the classic, “ok, everyone look at the camera”, but after that, the session is all about your story and how your family is feeling at that moment. I will gently guide you during the session into the best light, and use really simple prompts, but the majority of interaction is up to you. Connect, snuggle, keep each other warm, run, laugh, play, dance - just have fun! If you are a quiet, more intimate family, then just hold each other close and enjoy being together in the moment. It will make the photo session that much more enjoyable and the love will come through naturally in the photos. I let the vibe of the family and especially the nature of the kids guide the session. We’ll go with the flow, and keep things moving if we need to. This should be a fun experience, let’s make it that!
  • What are the best locations for a photo session?
Northern California is simply stunning! I have lots of locations in my back pocket and would be happy to share those with you. Once I get to know your family a little better, we can work together on finding the best location for you all
  • How many people can I include?
Family sessions are for up to 5 people, $25 per additional person.
  • Can you help with styling? What to Wear? What NOT to Wear?
Yes, Yes, and YES! I love helping families with styling and figuring out what each family member should wear. It’s a daunting thing to plan, and I want you to know that I GOT YOU! I have an exclusive client closet, just for families that book with me!
  • What about props?
My focus during our session is on you, and only you! I will sometimes add certain elements to enhance a photo, like a blanket for everyone to sit, or a woven basket for newborn sessions. I recommend avoiding too many props, as I think they can compete with the natural story of your family. For newborns, I do offer clients a variety of wraps and headbands, blankets to choose from, but that’s about it! I want the focus to be on your baby, and the connection you have to your little one.
  • How much editing can I expect?
Color correction, cropping, and skin tone adjustments are included on every image that will be given to you. If you are interested in specific adjustments or head swaps, an additional fee will be applied ($50/hour with 1 hour min.). Also, you will receive print-ready files (so no RAW images!).
  • When will we receive our images?
About 1-2 weeks after your session, I will deliver a private, online gallery of culled and edited images. Through the gallery, you can share it with family members from far and wide, and there are also a variety of printing options. I work with a high-end printer in California, specializing in professional photos.
  • Any travel fees?
For anything 20 miles outside of 94952, there is a travel fee.
  • Let's Do This! What are the next steps?
Awesome, I’m so excited to be your photographer! The next steps - I’ll send over my standard client contract and an invoice for the session. A 30% deposit is required before the session begins. Then the good stuff! We’ll talk more about styling, wardrobe, and location.
  • When should I book?
The earlier the better! If you would like a Fall photo session, I recommend booking in May or June as I tend to fill up fast. Because of the detail and attention I give to each client, I only accept a certain number of photo sessions/month. So if you know you want to book, email me now! :)
  • You seem cool, but why should I choose you over other photographers?
I love creating beautiful images with my whole being! I put every ounce of effort into my images and want them to stand out from other traditional-style portraits. I love showing the connection you share with those who light up your life. I operate as a boutique photography service, which means that I place my focus not only on capturing your moments but also on creating a beautiful AND fun experience throughout the process! I believe that having pictures taken is so much more than a perfectly posed image with everyone smiling and looking at the camera; they are the key to telling your family story. I believe these moments, the connections you have and the emotions you feel are too important to let go of. My goal, as your Sonoma County Photographer, is for you to have them forever…for generation after generation to enjoy. I will work with you each step of the way; from booking the session, what to wear, and where to photograph, all the way through to the delivery of your final images.
